Quantum algorithm for the lattice Boltzmann method with applications on real quantum devices

In collaboration with Quanscient, Haiqu demonstrated the first non-linear simulation of 2D Navier-Stokes (NS) equations with obstacles on an IBM quantum processor. This is an important milestone, as this quantum computational fluid dynamics (CFD) problem exhibits all the key features of real industrial applications, such as calculating the airflow around an airplane wing, that is both the presence of non-linearities and complex boundary conditions.
